About Damon Lyons

Damon Lyons was an OMVIC registered salesperson for over 22 years. The entirety of this time was spent dealing with the international trade of motor vehicles, sourcing and supplying vehicles to and from various countries around the world. Damon gained a unique wealth of experiences from dealing with a multitude of international companies, government agencies, and regulations. Since his time studying criminal justice and public policy at the University of Guelph, Damon has kept his passion for the interaction between public interest and the laws and regulations governing those interactions. Damon has spent time dealing with automotive regulatory issues with a variety of institutions, including various local police departments, CBSA, USCBP, and NHTSA. In 2023, Damon accepted the full-time role of Executive Director for the Canadian Vehicle Exporter’s Association. Damon’s mandate on behalf of the CVEA is to promote the open and fair trade of motor vehicles for export from Canada, while advocating and collaborating with industry partners and government agencies for proper market controls to protect the interests of all Canadians.
