About Dan Allan

My long experience of theoretical statistics and problem-solving programming, applied to both finance and quantum physics, has given me a deep rooted passion for using machine learning to provide innovative, efficient and data-driven models for decision-making. My journey began with a Master's Degree in theoretical physics where I specialized within quantum physics and quantum information, whose foundation is built upon advanced theoretical statistics. I have programmed numerical simulations for Quantum Szilard Engines, and my Master's Thesis led to two peer-reviewed scientific publications (https://doi.org/10.22331/q-2021-05-27-462 and https://doi.org/10.1088/1367-2630/ac688a) and a research internship in Luxembourg. During the latter I developed an interest in Quantum Machine Learning and performed some research on Quantum Optimization and Dynamics. I believe in a team focused work environment, where people provide their own unique point of view to help further and improve the solutions to the problems at hand. Creative discussions, respect, and passion for the end goal are some of the cornerstones of any succesful project. I love to teach others things I know, and I love being taught things I have yet to master!
