About Dan Anafi

I’m a software engineer and data science graduate student with a background that bridges cloud computing, machine learning, and the life sciences. After earning my MCIT degree from the University of Pennsylvania, I joined AWS, where I helped support product launches and address privacy compliance issues within the Telco Network Builder group. My contributions included securely deleting sensitive logs to help resolve a Sev 2 issue, strengthening input validation in a Java codebase, and refactoring backend services to reduce internal dependencies. I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Data Science at Penn (remote and part-time), and I’m eager to bring my skills in Python, ML, and distributed systems to a mission-driven team. My earlier career in biophysics and over a decade as a tutor have given me a strong foundation in problem-solving, clear communication, and interdisciplinary thinking. Whether contributing to scalable infrastructure, building data pipelines, or developing ML tools, I enjoy tackling complex problems and delivering meaningful solutions.
