About Dan Arends

DANIEL E. ARENDS is a Principal at Colliers International and the Chairman of the National Occupier Advisers Group. His area of concentration is the representation of corporate and professional service firms throughout the Metropolitan Chicago area. He is the Chairman of Colliers International's National Law Firm Practice Group. Widely acknowledged as a leader and top performer, Dan has been recognized as a finalist for Office Broker of the Year twelve out of the past fourteen years. Known for his unwavering integrity, stellar client service, creative deal structuring, and commitment to excellence, he consummates more transactions than any other broker in the Chicagoland area on an annual basis. Upon earning his MBA and JD degrees concurrently in 1989, he took a position at CB Commercial. In 1996, he moved to Insignia where he served as Senior Managing Director. In he joined Colliers as a Senior Vice President and Director of the Office Adivsory Group for the downtown office. Dan became a Principal in 2005. Dan draws upon his legal background in representing the best interests of tenants, negotiating leases, helping protect his clients from any unforeseen issues, and guiding them in meeting their future objectives. Dan has a pragmatic, detail-oriented and highly consultative selling style. Surrounded by the commercial real estate industry’s top resources and a market-savvy peer group, Dan is full-immersion, accountable, and accessible. He focuses on representing tenants and educates them on how to optimize their space, the implications of the real estate market and how it impacts them. He covers all aspects of the transaction, including programming his clients' needs, presenting market alternatives and cost analysis, hiring architects, contractors, movers, furniture providers and information technology consultants.
