About Dan Avrit

Dan Avrit is a founding member and Principal at ParkerRodriguez, a planning, urban design and landscape architecture firm in Alexandria, Virginia. He grew up in California and graduated from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA with a degree in Landscape Architecture. His love for the built and natural environment have led him to think big and find meaningful solutions to complex development challenges. Economic, Social and Environmental Sustainability are some of the critical factors that go into developing environments that are unique, captivating and sustainable in the long term. With 26 years of professional experience he has worked throughout the eastern United States providing expertise in master planning & visioning for new communities, urban design for new, walkable districts, and full Landscape Architectural services at all scales of work. Mr. Avrit has led the design, management, and implementation of award winning large-scale mixed-use communities, active adult communities as well as highly detailed urban plazas, streetscapes and urban infill projects. Mr. Avrits work includes master planning and landscape architecture for the large scale communities of Bayside in Delaware; Brambleton, Lenah Mill and Dominion Valley in Virginia; BeechTree in Maryland; and RiverLights in North Carolina. His work also includes planning and landscape architecture consulting on numerous communities including Waterset in Florida, Graywood in Louisiana, Briar Chapel in North Carolina as well as One Loudoun and The Reserve in Virginia. Urban design and landscape architecture projects include 300 New Jersey Avenue, Sonnet and 77 H Street in Washington, DC; Flats 8300 in Bethesda, MD; and The Ascent, The Adaire and The Kingston in Tysons Corner, VA. Entitlements for the above projects as well as Spring Hill Station, The Highland District and The Commons in Tysons, VA have addressed key concerns and major planning goals.
