About Dan Baisden

Passionate about building better places, I manage a team of neighborhood specialists, urban planners, and grant writers while working in the field of community development. Technically, I'm an award-winning urban planner, sociologist, placemaking practitioner, ethnographic researcher, and Crime-Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) specialist. While these accolades look nice on a shelf, the only thing that matters is. I hold undergraduate degrees in Urban Planning and Urban Sociology from Arizona State University, in addition to a Masters in Community and Economic Development from Pennsylvania State University. In addition to my experience in City building, I have nearly 25 years of on-air and radio broadcast management experience. You can say I've been busy. I revel in the thought of taking something and flipping it upside down just to see it from a different viewpoint-"Wouldn't It Be Great If." is what I always start my day with. In fact, I keep a journal with ideas I write down each morning- I live for strengths and discover how you can turn ordinary into spectacular. This is extremely important in both downtown and long-range neighborhood plans- Not a hoarder, but I do enjoy collecting information. I believe that having this helps not only keep me informed but the mind fresh with new ideas from years of research- Sort through the clutter and always find the best route to success. Sometimes it's painful, but I must always ask myself "What If?"
