Excellent team working, communications and analytical skills, and am very well-organized with 25+ years of process instrumentation and controls experience. • Applications have included chemical plants, pulp and paper mills, power plants (fossil), petroleum refineries, wastewater/water treatment facilities, fiberglass plants and cement plants. • Detailed instrument specification and selection of control valves and on-off valves, transmitters, sensors, etc, using process data, P & IDs, and control narratives. • P & ID development and review, I/O layout and counts, loop sheets, instrument indexes, interconnect wiring, as well as the design of control panels, junction boxes, etc. • Instrument databases using SmartPlant, Comos, Access and Excel-based specifications. • Have worked as a lead discipline engineer for individual projects (instrumentation and controls). • Ability to take all aspects of a detailed instrumentation and process control design package from inception to completion. Also experienced with 480VAC systems, mostly for motor controls. • Control systems integration where PLC programming and HMI graphics development were involved, I/O layout, DCS/PLC systems design (multiple platforms) and Factory Acceptance Testing. Experience with Emerson, Fisher, and Foxboro DCS systems, as well as Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLC systems. • Extensive design and field experience including checkout, troubleshooting and construction support. • Very experienced with ISA, NEC and practices and standards. • Vendor submittal review and evaluation, as well as aiding the procurement effort. • Typically work with minor supervision required in a detailed, schedule-driven environment. • Both full-time and contract positions have been held.
