About Dan Bitner

Improving the lives of others will always be at the core of my professional and personal choices. This began in adolescence as a Boy Scout, but certainly followed me to Penn State where I was an EMT and Ski Patroller, and while I was an Active Duty Air Force Intelligence Officer (Combat Search and Rescue). What I noticed in retrospect was how much I enjoyed analysis, problem solving, and critical thinking; whether that was diagnosing a patient’s condition or building flight routes which minimized exposure to enemy forces. But I knew I could do more. That’s what drove me to complete my MBA and pursue opportunities to enhance outcomes for the public sector. Now, I’m a certified project manager with more than 5 years of experience in project management, strategy consulting, and organizational operations. I’ve continued to serve (part time) in the Air National Guard and am proud of more than 9 years spent building high-performing teams, directing cross-functional initiatives, coaching and mentoring analysts, and training operators. My strengths include analysis and complex problem solving, executing to meet organizational visions, and developing strategic solutions to targeted functional challenges. I'm a dynamic leader and follower known for aligning stakeholders across organizations to achieve significant operational outcomes. I want to continue to grow professionally and am looking for opportunities as a Manager, or Senior Manager in a strategy related role. When I’m not at work, I’m finding ways to be outdoors: snowboarding in the winter, hiking in the spring, and sport flying single-engine aircraft in the summer and fall. I’m constantly looking to expand my personal and professional horizons and this year is no different. Some of my goals for 2022 include completing the Sea Plane “Add On” for my pilot’s license, pass Air Command and Staff College, running my first Marathon, and completing a SQL Certification Course.
