About Dan Davidson

Captain James T. Kirk of the Starship Enterprise once said when trapped in the past:"Let me help." A hundred years or so from now, I believe, a famous novelist will write a classic using that theme. He'll recommend those three words even over "I love you." Let me help. That phrase has been the very core of my career path for over two decades. It has been my passion to provide help to internal associates and external customers for any and all technical support issues that have come my way. I have 25 plus years experience working in a 24 x 7 global IT operations / production support environment across multiple operating systems; Solaris, Linux, Windows, Unix, VMS, with an emphasis on supporting EFT applications. I have been an avid Star Trek fan since I was a kid. The vision of the future that Star Trek provides is what drives me. That desire to help. That need to do whatever I can to resolve an issue that is causing frustration for an end user. Along with the vision of a better future, Trek has always shown the technologies of the future that help humanity. That futuristic technology, which we see become more of a reality everyday, is what started me on my path to providing Technical Support to customers and eventually becoming a Cloud Engineer. A couple of fun facts about me- In addition to Stat Trek, I am also an avid Disney fan, travelling to Walt Disney World every year with my wife on vacation. As a matter of fact, I proposed to her there- I am a co-creator and executive producer of a Star Trek podcast called Trek Geeks which started back in January 2015. When my podcast partner came to me in 2014 to ask if I wanted to do a Star Trek podcast, my answer was, in this order:"No.what's a podcast?" Since then we have over 300 episodes with no end in sight-
