Background

About Dan Dirks

My time in South Sudan Africa, Syria, and Brussels Belgium, American Samoa as well as my service with the Peace Corps in the Islands of Tonga South Pacific has given me a global perspective. I have not only learned to live and operate in a war torn austere environments and foreign culture, I have gained experience working with aid organizations from Japan, Korea, New Zealand, and Australia, Turkey, Belgium, France and many countries of Africa. I have become well versed in developing Non-Governmental Organizations, teaching technical courses at the collegiate level, and working with local governmental figures and bodies to initiate and complete development projects in construction, industrial arts education, alternative energy, fisheries, business management, and economic principles. As a Master Mechanical engineer, a contractor, and a member of the Buhler Volunteer Fire Department, I gained technical skills and an appreciation of physical laws that govern our world. Raised in a rural country environment, I learned hard work and discipline while harvesting agricultural crops throughout Middle America. Overall, my life experiences have taught me how to work and communicate effectively, manage large- and small- scale projects, and work with and within governments of varying capacity. Moreover, I approach challenges with an open mind and a keen resolve to implement efficient strategic plans, productive project oversight, and an accurate representation of humanitarianism in our effort to assist developing nations. Working in the USA economy now seems second nature. By nature I support the people around me with ideas and intrigue. This combination brings economic success at an accelerated rate all the while enhancing personal satisfaction in the work place for everyone involved with me.
