About Dan Glasel

I am a systems engineer with fifteen years of experience. My work focuses mostly on modeling and simulation (M&S), hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) simulator design, and integration and test (I&T). At Exelis (now Harris/L3) I provided resource management and survivability analyses to inform the design of electronic warfare (EW) systems. At DHPC, I led a team designing and developing a hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) digital simulator to test infrared countermeasure (IRCM) systems. At Pacific Defense (formerly Spear Research), I was a contributor to multiple projects involving real-time signal processing for radar and electronic warfare systems. I also managed SBIRs involving advanced algorithms for resource management, and I was an engineering lead for a program to develop an RF receiver for space applications.Most of my positions throughout my career require me to wear many hats. I write software, design analog and digital signal processing chains, plan and execute simulations, and troubleshoot prototype systems. I also meet with customers, lead small teams, and write proposals. I have also, on occasion, had to step in as a lab administrator and maintain an information system (IS) consisting of a couple Linux machines.I'm used to learning new skills as I go, and working with minimal supervision. Once I figure it out, I find it just as easy to explain to others. My ability to communicate with and understand others makes it easy for me to maintain harmonious relations with coworkers and customers alike.
