About Dan Hansen

Daniel is a passionate, honest and hardworking professional of his field. In 2012 Daniel, along with his sister Jessica, opened the doors of their catering company, Hansens Gourmet Food To Go. With a vision to provide the community with a wide range of catering solutions from corporate lunches and sundowners to private chef hire and everything in between.(Engagements, Weddings, Birthday Parties, Sports Club Catering.) With several awards to his name, he also very good at what he does. Most recently Daniel's business, Hansens Gourmet Food To Go took out CEBA Best New Business - Runner Up Award. From a very early age, Daniel developed a deep passion for all things food. Years spent assisting in the planting, growing, cultivating and then cooking and eating of the finest ingredients really gave him an understanding and appreciation of fresh, seasonal produce. From paddock to plate. After completing his TEE in 1995, Dan immediately started his apprenticeship that same year. In his first year of training Daniel won Best Student in Catering Equipment and Safety Award. His apprenticeship only fuelled his love for all things food, moving from pubs and cafes to hotels. In Daniel moved to Sydney to work at the Olympics. After spending six months in Sydney he relocated to Queensland, working on the Gold Coast for a further six months. Upon returning to Perth, Daniel became Sous Chef at Ibis Hotel, and after only a few years he became Head Chef. In this position the hotel was awarded Accor's Best Buffet Breakfast, a national award. In 2009, Daniel was appointed Head Chef at the Inglewood Hotel a position he held for over three years. In this role he transformed the venue into a "food" pub, winning WA Best Steak Sandwich Award three years in a row - entering them into the Hall Of Fame. Daniel is also a very passionate fundraiser for The Harry Perkins Institute. Participating in all four Perth Ride To Conquer Cancers, Dan and his team have raised over
