I am honored that Clemson University has named me as their new Director of Parking and Transportation Services. I am very excited about this tremendous opportunity and with my leadership ability, professionalism and the teamwork that will ensue, I will strive to make Clemson's parking and transportation operations a model for other university operations around the country. Go Tigers! In my previous position as General Manager for LAZ Parking in Chicago, where I successfully managed and stabilized the nation’s largest private parking meter operation, as well as my previous high level positions as Operations Manager for Parking Services at Harvard University, Deputy Commissioner for the Boston Transportation Department and as Chief of Parking Control for New York City, I have had many significant accomplishments while demonstrating strong oral communication, writing, operations management, planning, analytical, negotiating, budget, contract administration and customer service skills. My 28+ years managing municipal government, university and most recently private sector parking meter operations, has afforded me the opportunity to successfully and collaboratively negotiate and build relationships with all levels of government, university and corporate personnel from field staff to middle management subordinates to upper management within my departments and other city agencies, to elected officials, community and business organizations as well as private citizens and contractors. I have also had direct involvement in human resource, budget and P&L review, recruitment and training, supervising and scheduling employees, developing and administering policies and standard operating procedures, employee assistance, labor management negotiations, employee incentive and disciplinary programs, performance management, and revenue and expense budget preparation.
