About Dan Jeric Rustia
I am a researcher in computer vision and machine learning in the Greenhouse Automation and Robotics Team in the Business Unit Greenhouse Horticulture and Flower Bulbs of Wageningen University & Research (WUR). I am involved in several topics applying low-cost computer vision techniques in crop defect detection and plant phenotyping. My preferred plant phenotyping topics are mostly about insect/disease resistance, root phenotyping, and alike. Alongside that, I also work on connecting the Asian (especially Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan) greenhouse sector to the Dutch greenhouse sector, concentrating on automization. Before, I worked as a postdoc and led our team in National Taiwan University in developing an insect pest monitoring system, funded by the Taiwanese government. I also have experience in developing vision-based systems for monitoring of honey bees and dairy cows.
