Experience includes oil and gas, military aviation, underwater, training, Information Technology, manufacturing, testing/repair, R&D and product support. Was involved in the entire life cycle of products from the exciting leading edge R&D to the trailing edge technology and end-of-life after obsolescence. My direct and in-depth technology experience includes Safety Critical Systems, Guided Wave RADAR (GWR), low frequency magnetics, Telematics, Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and advanced airborne radio communications, navigation, sensors and detection methods. A proactive and tenacious problem solver once issues are detected. Seemingly minor issues need to be resolved before they become much bigger, expensive or dangerous. The goal is early detection, determine the root cause and implement an effective solution in a timely manner. FMEA and FRACAS are familiar procedures. Consistently analytical in the approach to problem solving. What works, what doesn’t work, when did it happen, why did it happen, history and observations. Troubleshooting, fault isolation and resolution may involve design and construction of custom test jigs, electronic or software tools and simulation. System simulation, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) is a valuable tool to reliably reproduce complex situations and to discover the root cause of the problem.
