Health and safety at work makes sense and should always be a top priority, whether in administrative and technical positions or in the production process. Priorities should always be in the order of safety - quality – performance, although I am not saying that the gaps between these requirements are necessarily huge. This is a much talked-about subject and it is not always easy to convince everyone of this. But it is also a job and a task for a safety professional, especially for one who has a sense of holistic vision of the problem. What I have learnt and observed in my time in the field of occupational safety so far is that an individual alone can do nothing. An authoritarian mindset will only and only have a temporary effect. The effort is to create visible leadership of all responsible persons, only in this way can others be convinced of the meaning of occupational safety and thus achieve, or at least approach, a zero incidents.
