As a dedicated law enforcement professional with over 19 years of service, I have developed a comprehensive skill set in criminal investigations, intelligence gathering, and community safety. My career with the Palatine Police Department has allowed me to work in diverse roles, from Patrol Officer to Detective, each contributing to my ability to manage complex cases and ensure public safety. Throughout my career, I have conducted hundreds of intricate investigations, focusing on areas such as fraud, identity theft, missing persons, and homicides, with a notable high closure rate. My expertise includes the use of advanced interrogation techniques, particularly the Reid Technique, to extract crucial information from suspects, which has been pivotal in resolving cases. In my current role as a Detective and member of the Major Case Assistance Team and Cold Case Review Unit, I collaborate on major homicide investigations and review unsolved cases, providing strategic recommendations to reactivate and solve long-standing investigations. My leadership skills are demonstrated by my ability to manage high-volume caseloads, oversee offender compliance, and mentor junior officers. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement Justice Administration with a minor in Finance from Western Illinois University. My professional development is further supported by numerous certifications and specialized training in areas such as homicide investigation, juvenile investigation, and forensic examination.
