About Dan Moriarty

Working with clients and helping people become great professional speakers is something I enjoy. The last 20 years of my professional life in television and radio, as a host, reporter, interviewer, producer and actor has provided me with a solid foundation in this realm and allowed me to share what I’ve learned about effective communication. A graduate of Lake Forest College and Choate Rosemary Hall, I attained a BA degree with a double-major in Psychology and Art History. I also performed in theatre and played varsity ice hockey at both institutions. After moving to Los Angeles, I played roles in a number of popular television shows including Full House, Beverly Hills 90210 and Who's the Boss, while also appearing in several television commercials. As a broadcast host, I was fortunate to appear on several different network series including NHL Cool Shots, American Outback, NASCAR Outdoors, and Pioneers. I also hosted on Fox Sports Radio with cohost's Jim Mora, Lincoln Kennedy and Derek Deese. As a broadcast journalist, I have interviewed industry leading guests ranging from Gordie Howe and Wayne Gretzky, to Danny Boyle, Jerry Levin, John Kerry and Mitt Romney. Prior to being a founding member of Burst Trainings, I was a senior communications coach with Own The Room and also served as Director of Admissions and Marketing at the National Sports Academy. My work has taken me from NY to LA and to locations as diverse as Israel and The Marshall Islands. There’s literally nowhere that I haven’t gone to interview people. I have ice-climbed in Whistler, British Columbia, toured with bull riders in Reno, NV, and talked sailing on top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Australia. To get to know people, to earn their trust, you must start where they are comfortable. This is at the heart of my professional coaching expertise.
