About Dan Oflynn

I am the British Museum’s X-ray Imaging Scientist, based in the Department of Scientific Research. I oversee the operation of the large-scale CT/radiography laboratory located underneath the Museum galleries. My research focusses on the use of X-ray and neutron imaging techniques on a wide range of archaeological material to gain insights into ancient cultures, through the manufacture and use of objects, and the lives of people and fauna. I am keen to develop approaches to sharing scientific images with public and academic audiences. Before joining the British Museum, I completed a PhD in Physics at the University of Warwick and worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering, University College London.
