About Dan Parks

A former rugby international with 67 test caps for Scotland, I have successfully made the transition from elite sport to business, leading client engagement and business development teams at a national level. Currently I am now at Lockton, the world's largest privately owned insurance provider, building existing and new business relationships. I spent most of my international rugby career at fly-half, directing and strategising game plans. Skills critical for success in the intense pressure and competitiveness of international rugby include leading teams, building culture, effective communication, high work-rate, meticulous planning, overcoming adversity and celebrating success. These skills apply equally in business as they do in elite sport. Beyond rugby, I have found success in several commercial roles, holding team leadership and client facing roles where I can apply these skills to uplift employee engagement and happiness, client retention and advocacy, and accelerate the winning of new business. I’m still actively involved in rugby, coaching, consulting and commentating as a specialist analyst with Channel 7, Rugby Australia and Stan Sport.
