Background
About Dan Patterson
Over 20 years of experience in strategy, information architecture (IA) and user experience (UX) leadership on large-scale, digital projects. Coming up with intelligent ways to help my client's achieve their business goals, while protecting their customer's wants and needs is what excites me about my job. My favorite projects are those where I am able to ensure that my strategic direction comes to life through any digital, social or mobile tactics that are implemented! Strategy activities include research, insight development, SWOT, strategic development and planning in mobile and social marketing, business consulting, product ownership, implementation oversight and new business development. UX activities include project planning, contextual inquiry, task analysis, user stories, wireframing, interface design, schematics, prototyping, content analysis, accessibility review, SEO recommendations, usability testing, creative alignment and supporting agile technical development. My industry experience has led to an obsession with eCommerce that include business requirements that require extensive customization to off-the-shelf solutions. Along the way I have also picked up substantial experience in the following industries: Publishing, Financial, Consumer Packaged Goods, Retail, Travel & Leisure, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, Non-profit Associations, Energy, and Entertainment. I thrive in environments that have adopted the agile development methodology. My goal is to insure that the requirements are in place and complete so my teams are adding work to each sprint, instead of pushing it out. While I may not always play the role of the product owner, I am always at the table for the feature/function prioritization and sprint planning.
