About Dan Pedersen

Started as a designer in the advertising world, then picked up a camera and learned to make movies. In my current role as Director of Motion Media at closerlook, a biopharma marketing agency, I split my time between two jobs: Executing live action and animation work for our clients, and managing our in-house team of directors, producers, editors and animators. When I'm not on a film set, in a brainstorm, or in a client presentation, I'm helping those around me deliver great work and expand their skillsets. I help creative teams develop and sell their ideas. I create timelines and budgets to deliver what was sold. I assist writers with scripts and help designers with storyboards. I work with actors, performers, directors, line producers, cinematographers, editors, animators, composers, choreographers, sound designers, colorists and VFX artists to achieve the best results possible. I coordinate with AMs, PMs and finance to deliver work on time and under budget. I run the agency's in-house motion department, manage their workload, keep their skillsets fresh, and keep their software and hardware current. And I do whatever it takes to keep our clients happy.(In my spare time, I still take freelance design and brand identity work to keep my skills fresh. I've even been known to paint a mural or two.
