About Dan Pocock

Transitioning into data science from a finance and law background, I find myself pursuing a new career path full of complex challenges. Now equipped with proficient skills in big data analysis and visualization, I am eager to apply my expertise with a focus on driving growth and profitability. Several things led me to this point: • Whilst pursuing my finance degree I was exposed to coding as a source of forecasting balance sheets and uncovering key metrics that before seemed impossible. • These experiences stuck with me through my education, and during my study at Australia's top law school, I decided to move into a new direction that better fit my overall skills by pivoting into data. • While pursuing another college degree was not a feasible option for me at the time, I sought out a practical alternative to acquire the necessary skills. That's when I discovered the TripleTen Data Science program, an immersive 10-month bootcamp that perfectly aligned with my aspirations. • During the program, I delved deep into the realms of Python, SQL, Data Visualization, and Machine Learning. Collaborating with fellow students on over 15 study projects, we tackled real-world business cases, utilizing data to drive improvements and achieve tangible results (You can learn more about my past projects on my GitHub page). Apart from my professional pursuits, I enjoy pickleball, climbing, and scuba diving.
