About Dan Popescu

Over the past 30+ years of entrepreneurial activity, we have developed Aectra as leaders of the market segments in which we operated: in partnerships with multinational corporations such as Du Pont de Nemours, Dow Agrosciences, General Electric, etc, we have brought countless innovative technologies and products to Romanian Industries, with significant contributions to our respective sectors: the automotive industry, the plastics and rubber processing industries, the textile industry, defence and personal protection, agriculture, etc. In agriculture, Aectra has become the market leader in the bio-stimulant and plant nutrition segments and an experience center, exporter of know-how in the region. We have shown that our expertise can contribute to systematic increases in productivity across all crops and we continue to be driven to further demonstrate to Romanian and international farmers our proven motto:"Technologies for Profit". Aectra has been a training school for the hundreds of people who have developed under this brand and business and we shall continue to be so. I believe that the young generation and the excellence in any field are critical to any society's future, hence, as a Rotarian, as well as through Aectra's CSR activities we have constantly invested in social programmes, education and in particular, in programmes that inspire the excellence in the fields of Leadership and inspirational youth examples. Since 2018, I feel proud to be part of the unique programme "Musical Heirs of Romania", a partnership between Rotary Club Pipera and Radio Romania Muzical, by which we promote Romania's most inspiring young musicians. Starting with 2019 I found an increasing interest in supporting Tech Startups and have been involved in financing and mentoring, directly or through investment funds, the entrepreneurial initiatives of young Romanians.
