About Dan Prisk

I'm a social scientist with a professional background in software development. I have extensive training and experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods. In terms of tools, I am experienced in working with R, NVivo, Linux, Git, and Stata. But given my background in software, I'm very comfortable picking up new tools quickly. Communicating between multiple stakeholders has been a theme throughout my career, with a focus on written reports and documentation. I have written research papers, grant proposals, software specifications, and user documentation. Before returning to education I led software development teams in startup environments. There I focused on product and project management. Outside of work, I love moving fast in the mountains, whether by foot or by bike. I originally moved to Canada to ride mountain bikes, and soon after became excited about trail running and scrambling as well. These days I dabble in racing, but mostly enjoy gaining intimate knowledge of the land where I live.
