Background
About Dan Reilly
I wear many hats, enabling Canadian R&D and training the next generation of project managers. As the Director of the Food Innovation & Research Studio (FIRSt) at George Brown College, I oversee our Technology Access Centre's operations and help enable our clients take their products from idea to in-market. FIRSt has been in operation for 12 years and has helped hundreds of food and beverage companies solve problems, launch new products, gain valuable consumer feedback and insights, and more. As a Project Manager, over the past decade I've delivered successful projects for organizations like Metro Inc, CAMH, the Healthy Crunch Company, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, provincial and federal government agencies, and many more. I occasionally provide project management consulting services to organizations in need of assistance. As a Professor in the GBC School of Management, I deliver final semester project management courses to students in the Business Administration - Project Management program as well as the Project Management post-graduate program. The "Real World Project Management" course gives students the opportunity to manage a real project for a real client, providing invaluable experiential learning with a faculty coach by their side. The "Project Management Case Studies" course helps our students take what they have learned and put it into practice on real case studies from the world of PM. As a grant writer, I have worked with and led teams to develop funding proposals to NSERC, SSHRC, OCE, CFI, MRI, and more. These proposals have brought in over $15M to George Brown College for staff and infrastructure, enabling educational and research initiatives across all campuses.
