About Dan Roman

I’m a Copenhagen-based designer and founder with a background in full-stack development and a passion for building thoughtful, scalable digital products. I thrive at the intersection of product strategy, design systems, and front-end implementation — blending technical depth with business understanding. Currently, I’m the Senior Product Designer at Starred, leading design across our candidate experience SaaS platform. I work end-to-end — from defining product direction and crafting UX flows to delivering clean, accessible UI and collaborating closely with engineers and stakeholders. Previously, I was the Founding Designer at Uniscale, where I built the design function from the ground up. I established the product’s design language, implemented a scalable design system, and led both brand and product design as we grew from 0 to 1. Before that, I worked at PatientSky, a medtech company modernizing healthcare software. There, I contributed to core product design and 0→1 initiatives — including a new mobile app and expansion into Finland — while also helping manage and scale the design system across teams. I started my career at Flyhjaelp, a legal tech company focused on digitizing consumer rights processes across Scandinavia. As both a developer and designer, I worked closely with the legal team to design and build internal tools, case handling dashboards, and public-facing web experiences — translating legal workflows into scalable digital solutions. With experience across SaaS, medtech, and legal tech, I bring a senior designer’s perspective rooted in both craft and context. I’m a strong advocate for utility-first CSS, robust design systems, and cross-functional collaboration that brings real business and user value.
