As we enter 2019, Self-driving vehicles are quickly becoming a commercial reality. Nearly all the major automotive companies are developing autonomous vehicle concepts in-house or have partnered with technology vendors to compete in the space. Meanwhile, a growing number of cities have approved autonomous vehicle pilot programs, further accelerating time to market. Although there are a number of regulatory and technological questions that need to be answered before autonomous cars take over the streets, there is no doubt that self-driving technologies are coming. This is where I come in to lead the development of electro-mechanical systems, hardware and software technologies that improve the safety of autonomous cars. This is why I’ve been developing my skills in: • Leading technical engineering activities ranging from concept design to system architecture and hardware integration, global resource management and manufacturing of highly reliable and secure connectivity products. • Managing global cross-functional teams to execute iterative software development, hardware architecture and system integration programs and support the stakeholders in managing standards during the certification process. • Providing hands-on leadership to specialized engineering sub-teams in order to ensure overall coordination and delivery of all integrated systems, including software and hardware integration, identifying and mitigating risks. • Direct oversight on groups of electrical, mechanical, reliability, and software engineers, who drive complex and fast-evolving integrated hardware and software from the early development phases to production and delivery.
