About Dan Schold

I have worked and been involved in Building Automation since As a top graduate from BCIT's Electronic & Electrical Engineering program, I was given the skills to work in numerous fields within the industry, from Instrumentation and PLC's to HVAC Automation systems. In my tenure at ESC Automation, I have worked in almost every capacity within the company. I started as an Electrical Apprentice, understanding how projects are built from a construction side, as well as learning valuable trade experience, which I have carried on to my personal life. As I wanted to learn more and utilize my schooling from BCIT, I moved into a technical role as an Application Engineer. I did this for about 5 years, working on such high profile projects as Electronic Arts Main Campus in Burnaby, Vancouver City Hall, and Scotia Tower. I was then promoted to Project Manager running a crew Application Engineers and Electrical Foreman. Needless to say this was a challenging position as construction is a difficult balance between man power and scheduling. But I did enjoy my time and my team members. I was very fortunate to manage the work on a majority of the Vancouver Winter Olympic sites, such as the Whistler Sliding Centre, Nordic Centre, and the Short Track Speed Skating and Figure Skating Arena (PNE Coliseum). Since 2008 I moved into a Sales/Account Managing role at ESC where I am responsible for growing the business, as well as maintaining current client relationships, developing new markets, and using new and existing technologies to support the needs of our clients for their own business and operational needs.
