About Dan Shaw

I have over 20 years experience within the manufacturing bulk handling industry, starting out as a fabricator/welder working my way through to a lead engineer within the design team. At Portasilo Ltd I managed the design teams for numerous projects and strive to lead in the safe, efficient & cost effective design of mechanical systems & products. I have the ability to liaise with customers, suppliers and the internal teams to ensure the engineering design meets all the customers’ specifications & all relevant national, international and industry standards, directives & codes. I am a high self developer who is happy to work as a member of a team or on my own if required, using my initiative to achieve the best solution of the task. I possess the ability to remain focused on key objectives and think clearly under pressure. I have experience with materials handling storage vessels, process pipework, discharge equipment, mix tank vessels and pressure vessels. I have used 2D AutoCAD for numerous years, currently at 2016 release. I also have numerous years experience in using Inventor 2016 and the Vault package. As well as having a keen interest in the manufacturing industry I also enjoy my time coaching football. I run two children's football teams; the under 10's @ local grassroots and the York & District Schoolboys under 12s. I have qualified as an FA level 2 coach and have all the relevant First aid/safeguarding/DBS certs. I also aim to carry this through and excel, already taking on more courses to achieve the FA level 2 add-ons and now pushing myself to gain further knowledge to help in the development of others. Again this is working with a large team and organising numerous events at locations all over the north of England etc…
