About Dan Steir

Dan Steir brings over thirty-five years of experience to the sports production and programming business. He currently has his own enterprise focused on innovating leagues, sports and production companies. Prior to October of 2020, Steir spent eight years as the Sr. Vice President of Production for NBC Sports, helping to oversee and manage NBC Sports staff and portfolio of properties. Before NBC, the Sports Emmy award winner spent twenty-three years at ESPN, with the last two years as a Sr. Coordinating Producer overseeing ESPN College Basketball until 2010 and then overseeing ESPNU until his departure. Dan’s transformative and passionate approach has touched hundreds of people, shows and properties ranging from four Olympics, two Super Bowls, multiple NFL, NBA and NHL Drafts, launches of the Premier Lacrosse League, X Games and ESPN’s very first Megacast, ESPY pre and post shows and ESPN’s 20th Anniversary Special along with a host of other programs and events. Dan oversaw ESPN’s College Basketball from 2002-2010 and during his tenure he generated a number of technical enhancements along with programming initiatives. Dan introduced the Above the Rim camera to the sport, launched multiple theme weeks, and was the creator of ESPN’s 24-hour College Basketball Tip-Off Marathon to name a few.
