About Dan Stonaker

Currently, I serve on the Board of Directors for the Bible Training Centre for Pastors; BTCP extends non-formal theological training to the world’s untrained pastors and church leaders. There are currently over active students enrolled in 100 countries in the 3-year program. An avid endurance athlete, I am a road cyclist and marathoner. I am a founding board member of the Van Purser Foundation and Domestique Leadership, non-profits focused on supporting and transforming the road cycling community. As well, I also serve on the board for Bike Alpharetta, a local cycling safety and engagement advocacy group. I am a founding board member for The Colorworks Group, a publishing and training company focused on helping people communicate through a better understanding of unique temperamental personality wiring. I am retired from a career in ministry where I served as the Director of Global(x), the international missions division for North Point Ministries, one of the largest churches in America. We partnered with organizations in 27 countries across Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia to lift people out of extreme poverty, provide safe environments for vulnerable women and children, and connect with unreached people. As well, I served as the Director of Resources. In this role I led the ministries efforts to resource thousands of like-minded churches. I directed the start of the Your Move television ministry and grew it to over 2 million weekly viewers, as well as founding North Point Music and overseeing it's growth for 11 years. Before joining North Point Ministries, I was a partner at Kurt Salmon management consulting and was fortunate enough to work with amazing clients such as Federated Department Stores, Reebok, Spiegel/Eddie Bauer, and National Geographic. My career started as a nuclear engineer on submarines after graduating with honors from the US Naval Academy. While serving in the US Navy on submarines, I learned the value of both deep-technical competence and strong principle-based leadership. I’m truly passionate about helping people have a better life now and a hopeful future. I’ve been fortunate to do this in my current job, serving as a board member for several organizations and helping families with financial planning. My formal education includes an MBA (finance) from Brenau University, a BS (mechanical engineering) from the US Naval Academy and I have completed the Harvard Business School Sustainable Business Strategy program. I am a certified Personal Resilience practitioner.
