About Dan Sturley

With over 10 years of experience as a senior project manager in the British Army, I have developed and delivered complex and impactful programs that enhance the defence capability and strategy of the UK. I have a proven track record of leading and managing diverse teams, solving challenging problems, and driving change in a fast-paced and pressured environment. As a Senior Project Manager, Strategy & Force Development, I work at the executive board level to design the future Army to meet the challenges posed to the country over the next five to ten years. I have set up a network of people from across government departments, the Army, and Defence Intelligence to ensure that the key decisions made within Futures Directorate are based on evidence of real-life threat. I am also part of the team preparing the Army’s pitch for the UK’s Strategic Defence and Security Review 2025. My outputs have informed strategic decisions on how the British Army should reorganise itself and make capability investment decisions. I am passionate about learning and developing my skills in leadership and strategic studies. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in corporate strategy and leadership at Henley Business School, where I have been trained and tested on presenting information articulately at the executive board level. I hold a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Management, a Level 6 Certificate in Leadership and Management, and an AgilePM® Practitioner certification. I am now seeking to leverage my extensive defence experience and competencies in change management, program development, strategic thinking, problem solving, risk management, and relationship building to pursue program manager and consultancy roles within the defence sector. I am motivated by the opportunity to apply my knowledge and skills to support and enable the defence and security objectives of the UK and its allies.
