Background
About Dan Vindigni
As Emergency Management Consultant with MassMutual, I am responsible for creating emergency management plans, drafting crisis response protocols, designing exercises, conducting training and monitoring global events that may impact business operations. I attend meetings of the Springfield Local Emergency Preparedness Committee (LEPC) and the Chicopee LEPC. I served as Hartford Regional LEPC Chairperson from 2008 to 2010 and as Springfield LEPC Chair from 2014 to 2016, thus being the only person to hold this leadership position in both entities. I am a graduate of FEMA’s 2018 Executive Academy cohort. Additionally, I presently serve as Chair of MassMutual’s Veterans Employee Resource Group. I was Assistant Town Manager in Enfield, CT for 22 years (1991-2013) and was responsible for their emergency management program. I was responsible for preparing and guiding a community of residents through a multitude of emergencies – both natural and man-made, to include five Presidential Disaster Declarations. Before Enfield, I was the Assistant Village Manager of Mount Kisco, NY for 3 years. I was also a Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps (1981-1985) serving as a rifle platoon commander and a logistics officer. I have a Masters of Public Administration from Albany’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, and a Bachelor’s in Geography, minoring in Urban/Regional Planning from the State University of New York at Albany. I am a Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP) and a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) from Disaster Recovery Institute International. I belong to the Association of Continuity Planners - CT Chapter. I am also certified as a Connecticut 085 School Business Administrator. I became a volunteer firefighter in 1977 and now serve as Deputy Chief of the Suffield, CT Fire Department. I also have 14 years of experience in NY with four emergency medical service agencies, and was an EMT for 9 years.
