Dan Woodel is a professional software architect and development lead specialising in Google Android mobile application development. Dan was a teenage expert in writing exploits to circumvent security in complex enterprise solutions. He mastered windows kernel level development designing rook kit malware. After working as a senior Android developer in a number of software houses in London he quickly moved into lead positions. He was recruited to work at Visa Inc in Silicon Valley in California constructing their mobile security practices with Visa NFC PayWave applications. Dan personally wrote the first official BBC iPlayer and BBC News Android apps at White City. He was later asked to return a number of years later as the lead technical architect for BBC News applications in New Broadcasting House, turning down a senior development position at Facebook. Dan was a technical lead in several different financial applications such as RBS, Clydesdale, Co-Operative Bank, NatWest, Yorkshire bank. He was then hired as the 8th member of staff at a start-up challenger bank 'B' run by Deloitte Digital for National Australia Group. He was a platform lead and was eventually hired directly at the bank working closely with the current CEO. The B banking app went through a very successful IPO in 2016.Dan then joined a cryptographic identity start-up 'biid' as the director of development and security. Dan worked directly with the CEO to build a core team of senior developers over several technology stacks, he was responsible for the design, architecture and security of the solution and personally hired and vetted all the senior members of the team. The biid team was entirely remote and distributed across Europe. Dan is currently a 5% shareholder in biid and is currently going through acquisition and wishes to move on to another project.Dans bread and butter is Android development and has over 10 years of experience in this platform alone. He is fully competent in all major android application stacks and methodologies, with a preference for Kotlin development. His current development personal interests are writing compilers and advanced unix automation technologies.
