About Dan Woodard

I have served in the full-time ministry world since graduating from university in 1980. In NW Ontario I taught in a Native Bible institute for six years and served in cross-cultural church planting for eleven years in First Nations communities in Canada (1979-89). In Winnipeg I developed a discipleship-training program for six years with 1,300 students taking at least one of a dozen courses. I also served alongside several First Nations elders in a peer-leadership environment to grow a church (1989-99). My passion for teamwork and partnerships developed when I coordinated four Native urban church-planting symposiums (1995-99) in central and western Canada. In our family moved to Alberta where I facilitated a thirty-year-old partnership of mission agencies committed to growing a stronger Native church-planting movement. This role included coordinating an annual cross-cultural training program with over 250 missionaries and First Nations leaders being trained in ministry skills (2001-2010). Since 2011 I’ve been focused on developing and facilitating workshops on a variety of issues relating to developing servant leaders. I enjoy teaching, preaching, mentoring, coaching, facilitating and writing. Our employment arrangement has been through the following organizations: Baptist Int’l Missions (1979-93), InterAct Ministries (1993-18), and ACTION International Ministries (2018-current). I am blessed beyond words to be married to Deanna since 1984 and we are blessed with three sons, three daughters-in-law and nine grandchildren.
