About Dana Bisker

I currently hold an Advanced Professional Certificate with certification in Elementary Education 1-6, Administrator I, and Administrator II. During the eighteen years that I have worked as a member of Team BCPS, I have had the privilege of working in four Title I schools. Through serving as a second and third-grade general education teacher and holding the roles of staff development teacher, assistant principal and principal. The single most important tool we can give a child is their education. In addition to being a lifelong learner, I thoroughly enjoy working with children and aspire to be a positive role model in their lives. I am a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher that loves working in the school setting, and it is my personal philosophy that all children can learn and be successful in a positive, safe, and rigorous learning environment. I consider it my responsibility to make sure that all of my students are productive and insightful individuals. I believe in order to make our students successful, we must first educate our teachers with the knowledge and understanding of the best teaching practices for engaging young learners in the 21st century. I believe my teaching style, which involves open communication and facilitating learning instead of dictating, promotes a positive classroom environment that allows my students to reach their educational goals. I feel these beliefs are interchangeable and can also be related to the development of teachers. Teachers need positive leaders to facilitate new instructional practices and guide them to reach their goals as educational leaders in their classrooms. I aspire to be that positive instructional leader for them now, and in the future.
