Basic science faculty in Veterinary Integrative Biosciences. Academic research activities include 1) understanding the role of non-steroidal reproductive hormones on bone metabolism, particularly in pre- and peri-menopausal women, and 2) determining the cellular and molecular mechanisms of musculoskeletal maintenance, loss and restoration regulated by age and exercise. Teaching experience (and/or course director) has included 1) medical musculoskeletal physiology, cell signaling and reproductive biology; 2) orthopaedic resident education in basic musculoskeletal sciences; and 3) graduate cellular endocrinology, reproductive physiology, bone pathophysiology, and cell signaling.
