About Danica Dummer

I’m a clinically trained healthcare consultant and PhD with a strong foundation in data science, machine learning, and health systems innovation. I specialize in translating complex clinical problems into data-driven solutions that improve patient care, streamline operations, and drive impact—especially in mission-driven and nonprofit settings. During my PhD in Rehabilitation Science, I built machine learning models to predict health outcomes using large healthcare datasets. Today, I apply those skills in the field, serving as a bridge between data scientists and frontline clinicians. I help physicians harness their data more effectively, while providing the clinical context data teams need to generate meaningful, actionable insights. At University of Utah Health, I’ve led major EMR enhancements, built clinical dashboards, and guided cross-functional teams through quality improvement and research initiatives. Whether in healthcare, tech, or the nonprofit space, I bring a unique ability to align people, data, and technology toward a common goal: better outcomes.
