About Daniel Amodeo

Specialized in the healthcare sector, I have developed experience over the years in both technical and business domains through daily engagement with public and private organizations, both in Italy and internationally. The dynamic nature of the healthcare ecosystem has allowed me to closely follow the evolution toward interoperability and citizen empowerment, analyzing processes from end to end. International experiences – such as attending the UK E-Health Week 2016 in London, launching pilot projects in China (Daqing 2015, Beijing 2013), and participating in the IHE Connectathon (Vienna 2014 and Istanbul 2013 as a developer, Rennes 2019 as a project manager) – have broadened my perspective on global healthcare innovation. My technical background, built in my early years as a Java developer, has enabled me to effectively translate customer needs into functional specifications for development teams. A strong knowledge of international healthcare standards (IHE, FHIR, HL7), combined with a degree in Computer Science with a systems focus, has helped me tackle complex challenges such as security and high availability in integration projects. With the shift to the Cloud, I’ve contributed to the deployment of complex architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure, or hybrid), tailored to client needs. In recent years, reporting directly to the Group CTO, I led the Enterprise Architecture department during a major digital transformation, applying the Application Modernization & Migration (AMM) paradigm and embracing DevOps practices. Designing cloud-native solutions and selecting the right components for each context has enhanced my ability to deliver high-impact improvements to company products. I now serve as Technology and Architecture Leader (aka Regional CTO - Italy), with a strategic focus on technology governance, security, and application resilience. In this role, I contribute to defining and driving the company's technology evolution, ensuring alignment between business goals and IT architecture.
