About Daniel Ayala

Environmental Sustainability Engineer & Marine Biologist PhD specializing in construction-projects, sustainable development projects, nature-restoration, aquatic resource usage & protection, and biodiversity investigations. Numerous professional degrees from Denmark, Sweden and USA. I´m starting new work with WSP here in Denmark, in their Nature & Marine Department. I recently finished 6 years working as the Environmental Manager supervising construction and ensuring environmentally correct practices of the € 850 million, 4 km high-speed rail and roadway bridge-construction project across a marine area in southern Denmark. Previously I have worked as the Environmental Leader for Denmark's Frederikssund Fjord-Link, a 260 million € high-bridge and roadway project over a protected Fjord in Northern Denmark. I have also previous worked at Denmark's National Institute of Aquatic Resources as a fisheries researcher, and have additionally worked as a carpenter and rock-climbing instructor for many years. Academically, i am also working on individual research articles describing marine fish species and investigating aspects of marine biodiversity & ecology. My future interests build upon successfully merging long and short-term usage and protection of our aquatic & terrestrial resources. When not otherwise occupied, I'm restoring my newest project; a danish countryside homestead from 1800 - a 225 year old house says something about potential & actual sustainability-)
