About Daniel Baird

I'm a Dan-of-all-trades when it comes to content. Officially my resume says I have seven years of communications experience, but unofficially it's more like 20. Earlier in life, I fell in love with content creation by writing for personal blogs and creating silly short films, often with Lego. Later, I followed these passions to university, where I studied TV and Radio production. After university, I wandered around for a few years, literally and figuratively. I lived and worked in five different countries, and throughout that time, I kept going back to storytelling for fulfillment. I kept my own travel blog, accepted freelance writing jobs, took thousands of photos, and had a stint volunteering on a live radio show. Eventually, I decided to settle down and transitioned towards my current career as a development and communications professional for nonprofits. That was the beginning of my official seven years in communications roles. Currently, I work as a writer for UW Bothell where I manage communications projects and act as the primary writer for the development team. I write news stories, fact sheets, impact reports, appeal emails, event scripts, newsletters, and anything else that requires words.
