About Daniel Berek

Having lived overseas and traveled to many places, I have developed a strong intellectual curiosity. I speak Spanish, French, Dutch, and German. My professional background is in the publishing industry and education, including persons with special needs, all of which I have combined in my main occupation as Communication Specialist at Advancing Opportunities, enhancing the organization's social media presence. On the side, I write articles, proofread and edit, and publish an E-newsletter for SCORE. While continuing my work with persons with disabilities, I have written articles, a blog, and many reviews on a freelance basis. I have had reviews, articles, a scholarly bibliography, and photographs published in multiple media. My contributions in curriculum writing, research, and photography have added considerable value to the programs at each of the organizations at which I have worked. My interests include issues affecting persons with disabilities, as well as the welfare of children, in general. I am currently developing my own Web site on my hero, Polish doctor, orphanage director, and educator Janusz Korczak. I also have a passion for photography; many of my images have been published elsewhere. My edited photos are on my Flickr page. I am always eager to meet people with similar interests and backgrounds!
