Background

About Daniel Berkow

I’m Daniel Berkow, a third-year psychology major at Northeastern University with a deep interest in mental health, addiction psychology, and psychiatry. My goal is to better understand the complexities of mental illness and contribute to advancing mental healthcare through research, clinical work, and advocacy. Currently, I’m involved in the EDGE Lab (Ethanol, Drugs, and Gambling Experiments), where I contribute to research exploring the psychological and neurological mechanisms underlying addiction. Additionally, I serve as an advocate with Student Organ Donor Advocates (SODA), working to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation and engage my community in meaningful health initiatives. Beyond research and advocacy, I’m seeking hands-on clinical experience to gain insight into patient care and psychiatric treatment. I plan to attend medical school and pursue a career in psychiatry, where I hope to integrate clinical practice, research, and advocacy to improve mental health treatment. I’m always open to connecting with professionals, researchers, and students who share my interests—let’s connect!
