About Daniel Boggan

As Assistant Principal of J. W. Sexton High School, where are our goal is to develop young men and women with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. My school offers 7th through 12th grades. We strive to have our parents, teachers, and community members actively involved in our students learning. Our school is Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) focused. A deep understanding of math provides a solid foundation for careers in all of the STEM fields. In addition to content knowledge, math is a means to develop skills such as logical thinking, creative problem solving, and persistence skills that are increasingly valued by tech corporations. We need to put students in the mindset to think creatively, persist through challenges and develop social emotional skills that will be highly valued in the age of automation and AI. Creative and rigorous approaches to learning math helps students develop these skills. Prior to becoming Assistant Principal, I worked in several roles at J.W. Sexton High School - Student Support Specialist, Peer Assistant Leader (PALS) Coordinator, Culturally Responsive Positive Behavior Intervention Support (CRPBIS) Coordinator, Head Football Coach, Boy’s and Girl’s Head Track & Field Coach, and Athletic Director.
