About Daniel Bruno Davis

As a Data Scientist at the DC Metropolitan Police Department, I apply advanced statistical techniques to support evidence-based policing and crime prevention. At MPD I have worked on long term analyses of crime prevention strategies, built machine learning models, and drafted numerous reports for senior leaders. I also have experience in working with compiling and cleaning data from multiple sources, designing cutting-edge measurement methods, and conducting field interviews and archival research. I have a PhD in Politics from the University of Virginia where I analyzed data on public procurement, corruption, and political dynasties. I have published my dissertation and an article on these topics, based on extensive fieldwork in the Philippines and Indonesia. My goal is to use data and insights to improve governance and accountability.
