I am Chair of the FED UP! Coalition to End the Opioid Epidemic. Local advocacy groups, led by parents who had lost children to the opioid epidemic, united to form this organization in 2012 to call for all federal government action necessary to bring an end to the opioid epidemic. I retired in 2021 after more than 40 practice of adult psychiatry and psychoanalysis to devote more time to the opioid epidemic. I returned to school and received my M.P.H. in Epidemiology in 2024, 50 years after I received my M.D.
