About Daniel Cameron

Since joining the Vancouver Police Department in 2015, I’ve served in Patrol, the Operations Command Centre, and the RPAS Unit. Each role strengthened how our department supports public safety — from advancing drone operations and training to securing funding for equipment that enhances front-line response. In my current role as Executive NCO in Executive Services, I help the VPD deliver on its strategic priorities by focusing on: Planning & resource management to align people and tools with operational needs. Coordinating events and ceremonies that represent the department with professionalism. Managing executive correspondence to ensure clarity, respect, and consistency. Leading community programs such as the Emergency Phone Program and Cell Phones for Seniors. Developing training resources that prepare officers to respond effectively to critical incidents. Empowering colleagues to turn plans and ideas into successful outcomes. At the core of my work is a simple belief: each day should be better than the one before, and tomorrow should be better than today. I want those around me — whether colleagues or community members — to feel supported and confident in their ability to succeed. Community connection is central to the department’s mission. I advocate for children with autism and often speak at fundraising events to build awareness and support. In 2023, I was honoured to be named Community Champion by the Vancouver Police Foundation — recognition that reflects the strong partnership between the VPD and the city we serve.
