Scientific Officer at Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, the National Agency for Science Funding, at the Department of Support to R&D Units/institutions (DAI - Departamento de Apoio às Instituições). Coordinated the 2019 maturity evaluation of National Research Infrastructures and the publication of the National Roadmap of RIs - 2020 Update. Also represent Portugal in the General Assemblies of the European Research Infrastructures EPOS and DARIAH, and am the Portuguese alternate NCP for Research Infrastructures in Horizon Europe. Am also officer in evaluation processes of the national calls for Scientific Employment ("Concurso de Estímulo ao Emprego Científico individual"), for funding of Research Infrastructures (Regional calls) and others managed by the Department of R&D Units. Was previously a Grants/Project Manager at Instituto de Medicina Molecular (Lisboa, Portugal) and before that a researcher. I studied molecular aspects of malaria infections with the objective of being translated into improved chemotherapy and immunisation strategies. During my post-doc at New York University (NYU) I worked on pre-clinical malaria vaccine development using animal models - collaboration between NYU and a biotech company. For my PhD in Molecular Genetics, I studied the immune responses, specially from dendritic cells, to malaria parasites.
