About Daniel Carvalhoso

I am a QC Analyst at BioCentriq, a leading contract development and manufacturing organization for cell and gene therapy products. I have a bachelors degree in Biology from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a minor in chemistry and a minor in forensics. At BioCentriq, I am responsible for performing in-process, release, and stability testing of cell therapy products in a cGMP environment. I work closely with various departments to ensure compliance with all applicable procedures, standards, and regulations. I conduct analytical testing of raw material, reagent, and cell samples using Flow cytometry, ddPCR, ELISA, Bioassay, pH, Osmolality, cell count, cell viability, Gram Staining, and Endotoxin methods. I also aseptically conduct cell passages for cell culture. I have experience in drafting and reviewing SOPs, Forms, NOE's, LIR's, Deviations, COC's and change controls. I also participate in technology transfers. Previously, I worked as a Microarray Laboratory Specialist at Sampled, where I performed high throughput genomics applications, such real-time qPCR, SNP genotyping, microarrays, and sequencing for multiple projects with companies such as Merck & Co, Janssen Pharmaceuticals, GSK plc, VCU, Cytox Ltd, Otsuka Pharmaceutical, Genomics PLC, and Million Veteran Program. I also worked as a Laboratory Specialist at Sampled, where I measured SARS-CoV-2 viral load in thousands of patients to determine vaccine efficacy using Thermofisher Quant Studio. I have skills in Cell Therapy, Pipetting, Quality Control, Data review, Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and handling liquid handler robotics. I am passionate about applying my knowledge and skills in cell and gene therapy to support the development and manufacturing of innovative and life-saving products.
